VALKEN
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
1. Introduction
Valken ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by ELDR Technologies Ltd (eldr.io). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Valken desktop app, this website and related services (the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information: your name and email address from Google, GitHub or Microsoft, if you sign in. Downloading and using Valken Basic needs no account.
- Purchases: Polar, our merchant of record, processes payments and sends us the order, the product, the amount and your email address. We never see your card details.
- Downloads: we count downloads per day, version and platform. We don't store your IP address or browser with the count.
- The desktop app: the app checks for updates, and sends usage data only if you opt in. Your cluster's data (names, images, logs and kubeconfigs) never leaves your machine.
- Usage data (opt-in): which features you use and how long they take, for example opening a lens or a scan's duration, with counts rounded into ranges. Each report carries the app version, operating system, architecture and plan, a random install ID (not linked to your account; you can reset it in Settings → Privacy) and a random ID for that launch. When something fails, it records only which kind of error it was (for example "sign-in timed out") or, for a crash, where in Valken's own code it happened. It never includes cluster, namespace, object or image names, or error messages. Settings → Privacy shows exactly what was sent. We don't store your IP address with it; we keep detailed reports for up to 30 days and counts made from them for up to 13 months.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
- Authenticate users and manage accounts.
- Send transactional and product communications.
- Process purchases and subscriptions.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Data Sharing
We share your information only with the service providers who help us run the Service (cloud infrastructure, Polar for payments, and Grafana Labs, which stores opt-in usage data from the desktop app), subject to confidentiality agreements. The website uses no analytics or third-party trackers. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the address below.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, please contact us.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
